Week 9 PPR Fantasy Football Tight End Rankings
Will Waller become more consistent? Is Kittle TE2 as he returns? Will Kelce pick it back up today?
Top 15 Tight Ends:
Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs, Opponent: Green Bay Packers
Kelce hasn’t been good in two weeks. However, he is still Travis Kelce and he should have a monster game against Green Bay today. He is always TE1.
George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers, Opponent: Arizona Cardinals
Expect a huge day when George Kittle returns Sunday afternoon. Elijah Mitchell will be limited and Jimmy Garroppolo seems to be getting into a rhythm offensively. They can’t just keep throwing to Deebo Samuel every play.
Darren Waller, Las Vegas Raiders, Opponent: New York Giants
Waller is an NFL receiver in a Tight Ends body and is a mismatch nightmare. The Kyle Pitts before Kyle Pitts, Waller has been surprisingly limited in his target share this season. However, he should have a big game against the Giants today.
Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons, Opponent: New Orleans Saints
With Calvin Ridley continuing to be out, both Cordarelle Patterson and Kyle Pitts will become the 1 and 2 options for the Falcons offense. Start Pitts with confidence even against a pretty dominant Saints defense.
Dalton Schultz, Dallas Cowboys, Opponent: Denver Broncos
The Broncos have a great defense, but Schultz has Dak Prescott back and will get his share of targets today.
Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens, Opponent: Minnesota Vikings
Andrews is producing as much as any Tight End in the NFL over the past 4 weeks. Start him with confidence against an up and down Vikings defense.
Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles, Opponent: Los Angeles Chargers
Jalen Hurts doesn’t pass that often. However, when he does, it’s either going to DeVonta Smith or Dallas Goedert (who is now the lone TE for the Eagles). Hurts loves to target Goedert in the Red Zone so he remains a solid start in PPR leagues against the Chargers who have given up their share of points this year.
Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers, Opponent: Chicago Bears
With Eric Ebron continuing to be out tomorrow night, Freiermuth is the only Tight End option for Big Ben. He is coming off of two straight 11+ point games, so start him with confidence against a Bears defense that gives up 33 points to the 49ers last weekend.
Jared Cook, Los Angeles Chargers, Opponent: Philadelphia Eagles
Jared Cook is going to have a big day. I just have a feeling. Justin Herbert will get his mojo back and Cook will benefit tremendously as Herbert loves to target Cook especially in the Red Zone. Start him with confidence today.
Mike Gesicki, Miami Dolphins, Opponent: Houston Texans
Gesicki has been so consistent with his production, and Jacoby Brissett throws to him even more than Tua Tagovailoa. With Tagovailoa being out today, Brissett is playing and will target Gesicki a lot. However, Gesicki’s production could be dependent on touchdowns, which the Dolphins struggle with getting.
Evan Engram, New York Giants, Opponent: Las Vegas Radiers
Engram is touchdown-dependent and should pull in one this weekend against a weak Raiders defense. However, his production is dependent on how Daniel Jones plays. If he has a good game, so does Engram. Start him.
Noah Fant, Denver Broncos, Opponent: Dallas Cowboys
Fant is starting to get going and the Cowboys have been up and down on defense this season. Even with Jerry Jeudy back, Fant’s target share could go down, but he is also a very safe play at Tight End this weekend.
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams, Opponent: Tennessee Titans
Higbee is always solid and is going up against a very weak Titans defense. Start him this weekend.
Hunter Henry, New England Patriots, Opponent: Carolina Panthers
Henry is touchdown-dependent and saw his TD streak broken last weekend against the Chargers. It is all about how much Henry will be targeted, and I don’t see him grabbing a TD this week, making him a risky play in Fantasy Football.
Zach Ertz, Arizona Cardinals, Opponent: San Francisco 49ers
With DeAndre Hopkins being out, Ertz could be due for more targets and receptions this weekend against the 49ers. I would sit him personally, but he could have a big day. He is a risky play in PPR leagues and is a big boom/bust player every single week.
