Top 30 Running Backs for Week 6 PPR Fantasy Football
30 instead of 40 due to bye weeks going into affect
Top 30:
Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers, Opponent: Minnesota Vikings
McCaffrey is the best PPR fantasy football player ever, and even though he missed two weeks of the season, he still could finish as the overall #1 fantasy player. He is just that good.
CMC is playing the Vikings and assuming he plays, which is almost 100 percent happening as of right now, he will get you close to 30 fantasy points easily.
Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans, Opponent: Buffalo Bills
I know that Henry is playing the bills but it doesn’t matter. He puts up a touchdown every single week and is the safest play of any Running Back I the history of Fantasy Football.
Will he have 30 fantasy points like he did last weekend? No chance, but he will undoubtedly get you 16+ with a chance to get 25+ as well against a really good Bills defense.
Austin Ekeler, Los Angeles Chargers, Opponent: Baltimore Ravens
It would be a crime if we ranked Ekeler any lower than 3 considering what he has done over the past few weeks. Ekeler had a rough start only putting up 11 fantasy points in week 1, but after that, he has put up the lines, 22.5 in Week 2, 22.7 in Week 3, 29.5 in Week 4, and 32.9 in Week 6.
There is an argument that Ekeler should be ranked #1 right now, but he has been injured in the past, and fantasy owners of Ekeler should be aware that his health could become a concern considering his usage so far this season.
Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers, Opponent: Seattle Seahawks
Harris is a PPR monster with his consistent production in both the passing game and the run game. Every single week Harris is putting up close to 20 fantasy points or even more than 20 and he should get close to 30 against the horrendous Seattle Seahawks defense that has allowed the most yards against the run this season. Start him with supreme confidence.
Antonio Gibson, Washington Football Team, Opponent: Kansas City Chiefs
Gibson has found the end zone in the last 3 weeks and he should have another 18+ fantasy point performance against the Chiefs who obviously have one of the weakest defenses in football. Start Gibson with supreme confidence this week.
Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts, Opponent: Houston Texans
Taylor will have another monster game against a really bad Texans defense. He is the #1 option on this Colts team and will be involved in the passing game and the run game perusal.
Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers, Opponent: Chicago Bears
Even against the Bears Jones will have a good week because he is Aaron Jones. He is always involved in the offense and considering Aaron Rodgers will have a tough day passing against this Bears defense, the Packers will have to win with their run game led by Aaron Jones. Expect 15-20 fantasy points from Jones this week.
Ezekiel Elliot, Dallas Cowboys, Opponent: New England Patriots
The Patriots have a great defense, but Elliot is putting up 20+ fantasy points every week now after a slow first 2 weeks of the season. I would be surprised if he doesn’t continue on this trajectory even against a tough Pats team.
D’Andre Swift, Detroit Lions: Opponent: Cincinnati Bengals
Swift is going to have a big week against the Bengals even with their decent defense. Start him with confidence as he is always Detroit’s #1 option.
Dalvin Cook/Alexander Mattinson, Minnesota Vikings, Opponent: Carolina Panthers
Whichever one plays will have a decent game even against a dominant defense in Carolina. Dalvin Cook has been hurt all year it seems like and he hasn’t put up the fantasy numbers we are accustomed to seeing him produce.
Regardless, in the games Cook has missed, Mattinson has put up 22+ fantasy point weeks in both of them, something Dalvin Cook has yet to do in his 3 weeks this season. Whichever one starts will be able to get some points, but whichever one plays is ranked 10th because they are going up against the Panthers.
Kareem Hunt, Cleveland Browns, Opponent: Arizona Cardinals
He doesn’t get many snaps, but Hunt does his damage in the passing game and in the Red-Zone continuing to not only get 4-6 receptions a game but also a touchdown or two pretty consistently each week. He is the RB1 on the Browns for PPR leagues considering his continued Red-Zone production and implementation in the passing game.
Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns, Opponent: Arizona Cardinals
Chubb had another great game last weekend against the Chargers, but he finally scored a touchdown making his 161 rush yards worthwhile for PPR leagues. He had 100 yards rushing the week before but only 11 fantasy points, which isn’t ideal for owners of Chubb.
Kareem Hunt continues to get the Red-Zone snaps, in fact, every single one of them, so unless Chubb can run for a 40+ yard touchdown like his 52-yard touchdown run last weekend, Chubb isn’t the best player to have in PPR. In fact, he has become the second-best RB on his team for PPR.
James Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars, Opponent: Miami Dolphins
James Robinson always produces when given the touches. He should produce again against the Dolphins and has proven to be a must-start.
Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Bengals, Opponent: Detroit Lions
Mixon came back and produced 10 fantasy points in the game. His health is still in question as he is obviously not fully healthy. Nonetheless, if Mixon plays this weekend against the Lions he is a must-start against one of the weaker defenses in football.
Chris Carson, Seattle Seahawks, Opponent: Pittsburgh Steelers
Carson should be back against the Steelers, but he is facing the Steelers which is why he falls to 15th overall this week. Who knows what to expect against one of the most dominant defenses in football.
Geno Smith will be behind center and if he struggles, Carson should get 20+ rushing attempts and maybe even some work in the passing game. Carson is the premiere boom/bust player this week in PPR leagues. I would sit him if you have someone safer to put in like Zack Moss or even Damien Harris.
Zack Moss, Buffalo Bills, Opponent: Tennessee Titans
Zack Moss regressed a tiny bit against the Chiefs last weekend, but he should be back to his old ways of 16+ fantasy points per week against a horrendous Titans defense. Both Moss and Singletary should benefit from playing the Titans. Moss is a must-start this weekend in my opinion.
Darell Henderson, Los Angeles Rams, Opponent: New York Giants
Henderson has been up and down all season long, but he should have a good game against a mediocre Giants defense.I personally wouldn’t start him, but he has usually proven me wrong with fantasy production. He is always a big boom/bust player.
Damien Williams, Chicago Bears, Opponent: Green Bay Packers
Damien Williams showed up in the absence of David Montgomery. So did the Rookie Running Back Khalil Herbert, but I think Williams will get the majority of the snaps against a weak Packers defense. Start Williams with confidence in a big game against the Packers.
Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders, Opponent: Denver Broncos
Josh Jacobs actually showed up last weekend putting up 17 fantasy points due to his touchdown run. However, he is going up against one of the best run defenses in the league and unless he gets some work in the passing game, you should sit Jacobs this week if you have any better options.
Damien Harris, New England Patriots, Opponent: Dallas Cowboys
Harris finally showed up as the #1 RB for New England, but Brandon Bolden also got some snaps at the RB position, which is a bit concerning.
Bolden was very productive in his limited snaps, but Harris should have a big game against the Cowboys this weekend regardless. Start him if he is able to play. He Is listed as questionable.
Myles Gaskin, Miami Dolphins, Opponent: Jacksonville Jaguars
Gaskin was nonexistent two weeks ago and then put up 30 fantasy points with 2 touchdown receptions and a ton of rushing yards and receiving yards as well against the Bucs, but that may have been a one-game thing.
We just don’t know how Gaskin will be used this weekend against the Jaguars. I personally think that Gaskin is a start since he is the obvious lead back for the Dolphins and they are playing the 0-5 Jaguars, but don’t be surprised if this weekend is a dud considering Gaskin’s track record.
James Conner, Arizona Cardinals, Opponent: Cleveland Browns
Conner would be ranked higher if he wasn’t playing the Browns and their elite front 7 defense. Conner is also the clear #1 back now in Arizona as Edmonds did nothing against the 49ers last weekend. Regardless, Conner is an easy sit this week.
Devin Singletary, Buffalo Bills, Opponent: Tennessee Titans
Singletary is the obvious #2 behind Moss at least in PPR Fantasy Football. Moss has been way more consistent in the passing game and even in the run game, so Singletary is a risky play even against a weak Titans defense. Sit him.
Devontae Booker, New York Giants, Opponent: Los Angeles Rams
Booker will be stepping in for Saquon Barkley, but he is not Saquon Barkley. However, the Rams have given up a suspicious among of rushing yards this year even with their coined “great defense” so Booker is a huge boom/bust play this week.
Personally, I am going to start him with Cordarelle Patterson and Elijah Mitchell having bye weeks. I think Booker will torch that Rams defense especially with a backup Quarterback behind center.
Khalil Herbert, Chicago Bears, Opponent: Green Bay Packers
Herbert had a fantastic game alongside Damien Williams. They shared snaps a lot and this is promising for fantasy owners of Herbert. Since Williams is still the #1 guy while Montgomery is out, Herbert is more of a boom/bust player this week.
Nyheim Hines, Indianapolis Colts, Opponent: Houston Texans
Hines’ has been super inconsistent this season due to Jonathan Taylor’s up and down season as well. If Taylor continues to be consistent in the passing game, then expect Hines to be used minimally. He is a big boom/bust play in PPR leagues and I would personally sit him this weekend even against the Texans.
Samuel Perine, Cincinnati Bengals, Opponent: Detroit Lions
Perine had a fantastic week even with Joe Mixon returning to the offense. Expect Perine to be used similarly against a horrid Detroit Lions defense even if Mixon is fully healthy.
Jamaal Williams, Detroit Lions, Opponent: Cincinnati Bengals
Jamaal Williams isn’t D’Andre Swift, but he will continue to be used in the passing game making him a top 30 RB every single week. The Bengals have played good defense all season long so Williams is a big-time boom/bust player for this week as he could have 4 receptions or 0 depending on how he is used against a good defense.
Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys, Opponent: New England Patriots
Pollard had a great fantasy week even with Ezikiel Elliot continuing to go off for touchdowns and rushing yards. Pollard finds his fantasy value in the passing game, but New England has a really good defense so I am expecting Pollard to have one of his bad games this weekend against the Patriots. However, Pollard ranks 29th because of his ability to find his way into the teams’ offensive scheme.
Miles Sanders, Philadelphia Eagles, Opponent: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sanders had a decent game in the Eagles’ win over the Panthers, but don’t expect him to all of a sudden go back to Miles Sanders of last year. Tampa Bay has a good run defense and Sanders will need to find his fantasy points in the passing game.
