Top 25 Wide Receivers for PPR Fantasy Football
Who are some value picks and who are the best receivers in Football besides Hill, Diggs, Adams, and Hopkins?
Sticking to the Fantasy Football articles, to go along with positional top 25 players I came out with this week, here are the top 25 Wide Receivers for Points Per Receptions (PPR) leagues this season in Fantasy Football.
As the season has already started with the Bucs beating the Cowboys in a fantastic game on Thursday night, we saw how lethal both Antonio Brown and Amari Cooper can still be when targeted a lot by their Quarterbacks.
Here are the Wide Receivers that will win you PPR leagues this year depending on where you took them in your drafts. Everyone has already drafted so if you see someone on this list you like that I have higher than most people have them, then you should maybe target them in a trade.
Tyreek Hill
There isn’t a question here. Hill is the fastest and best receiver in the NFL, no disrespect to Davante Adams. Hill will solidify himself as the clear WR1 this season and if you have Hill on your fantasy team this year, you are lucky.
Davante Adams
Adams is still as elite as ever, but I would be surprised if he replicates the production he had last year. He is still a great value pick if he fell to you in the end of the first round or early second round, but this Wide Receiver class is deep so hopefully, you didn’t reach for him. If you did pick him high in the first round…well then I hope the rest of your drafting was great because you’ll need it if you chose Adams over guys like Ekeler, Taylor, Hill, Kelce…etc.
Deandre Hopkins
I believe that Hopkins will have the best year of his career this season and finish as the 3rd best Wide Receiver in PPR leagues. He is so tall and skilled with an elite QB in Kyler Murray so his touchdown production and yardage will be amazing. I expect him to catch 12 touchdowns and have 1,300 receiving yards this year.
Stefon Diggs
Diggs is still the #1 option for projected MVP Josh Allen and will undoubtedly rack up over 1,300 yards with 10+ touchdowns. Diggs is a great value pick in the third round as a WR1 in PPR leagues, but if you picked him in the second-round pick, you will have trouble winning your league.
DK Metcalf
Russell Wilsons’ #1 option is a physical beast who is one of the strongest receivers in the history of the NFL. His route running is getting better and better as well as he is becoming a very polished and dominant receiver. Expect Metcalf to get at least 10 touchdowns this season with 1,200 receiving yards.
6. Calvin Ridley
Ridley will have another monster year for the Falcons. A solid WR1 option if you have two good running backs already, Ridley will not disappoint this year even if he is targeted less in the Red Zone because of Kyle Pitts.
7. Justin Jefferson
Jefferson will have trouble replicating the insane statistics he produced last year (1,400 yards, 7 touchdowns) but he will still be fantastic. I think that Kirk Cousins will get Adam Theilen more involved again, which will result in both receivers getting 1,200 yards and 6 touchdowns each, but neither of them going above that threshold. Jefferson is still a decent WR1 option in PPR leagues though.
8. A.J. Brown
Brown is still going to be Ryan Tannehill’s #1 option, but he won’t get the same amount of yards than he did last year (because of Julio Jones obviously). Either way, Brown is a great WR2 and a decent WR1 as long as you have some depth in PPR leagues.
Amari Cooper
Cooper’s elite route-running skills were on display on Thursday night where he picked up 2 touchdown catches and 139 receiving yards against a pretty good Bucs defense. Cooper is the obvious #1 option for Dak Prescott and is a sleeper WR1 in PPR leagues. If you stole Cooper in rounds 4+ then you will have a good shot at winning your league.
Keenan Allen
Allen is still the #1 option for a pass-heavy offense that includes elite QB, Justin Herbert. Herbert’s favorite target will again be Allen and if Herbert throws for 35 touchdowns this season, you best believe that at least 10 of them will be to Allen. Allen is a solid WR2 option, but because of Austin Ekeler’s return and with Mike Williams becoming more a part of the offense, it will be hard for you to win your PPR league if Allen is your WR1.
Robert Woods
Woods is going to be Stafford’s #1 option for a team that will pass more than people think (specifically because of the loss of RB Cam Akers). Woods showed how talented he was with Jared Goff throwing to him, so only imagine what he will be able to do with a Quarterback 5 times better than Goff. I am not bought in that Stafford is a top 10 QB like people are saying, but Jared Goff is the worst starting QB in the NFL, and everyone that watched Rams games last year knows that. In conclusion, Woods and his Receiver-mate Connor Kupp are both poised for huge PPR production this year.
12. Terry McLaurin
McLaurin is the best receiver (other than Antonio Gibson who is a Running Back) on the Football team roster, so he will undoubtedly be targeted 10+ times a game by Ryan Fitzpatrick and is a sure thing to produce at least 9 touchdowns with 1,100 receiving yards. I wouldn’t target McLaurin unless you can get him in the 5th or 6th round just because I think this offense will be heavily reliant on Antonio Gibson, but he is still a solid WR2 option for PPR leagues.
13. Julio Jones
Jones is still as dominant as ever, the only problem is he will have A.J. Brown and Derrick Henry on his offense, meaning his production should go slightly down. Jones is still one of the biggest WR2 sleepers in all of PPR just because Tannehill has so much firepower on his offense and Jones will be the #1 target in the Red-Zone. If you can get Julio Jones in the 6th round, you are going to have a great shot at winning your league. Plain and simple.
14. CeeDee Lamb
Lamb showed how his production will be taken to another level this year with Dak Prescott behind center finishing Thursday night’s game against the Bucs with 104 receiving yards and a touchdown catch. Lamb is a great value selection in rounds 6+ and is a very solid WR2 in PPR leagues.
Allen Robinson II
No point in starting Allen Robinson until the Bears wake up to reality and start a good QB in Justin Fields (who is ten times better than washed Andy Dalton). Robinson’s production will be mediocre until the Bears make the change to Fields. Once they do, Robinson becomes a clear steal in rounds 6+ because of him being the undisputed #1 option on the offensive end for a team that will throw way more this year once Fields is behind center. Hopefully, the Bears lose the first 3 games and realize that Dalton can’t play in the National Football League anymore and make the switch sooner rather than later.
16. Connor Kupp
Matthew Stafford’s #2 option is a solid WR2 in all PPR leagues. Kupp wasn’t as advertised last season, but we have to remember who his QB was (again Jared Goff, the worst starting QB in the NFL behind Andy Dalton). With Stafford behind center, Kupp is poised for a huge year just like Robert Woods. Expect Kupp to go for 1,200 receiving yards with 8+ TD’s. A lot of fantasy leagues will be won because of Kupp being picked in rounds 6+.
Adam Theilen
Theilen had a productive year last season with 14 TD’s (3rd in the NFL for receivers) and 925 yards but was overshadowed by teammate Justin Jefferson’s amazing rookie campaign. Theilen is a steal at WR2 in all PPR leagues and maybe is the #1 steal if you can get him in round 7 like I did because of him being the #1 Red-Zone target in a pass-heavy offense for the Vikings. I expect Theilen to remind everyone who the Vikes #1 receiver is this season.
D.J. Moore
I am as high on D.J. Moore as anyone. I think Sam Darnold’s career is rejuvenated and he has his best season yet with Moore being his #1 target. Moore will get 1,200 + receiving yards with 10+ TD’s. I just know it will happen, even in a stacked offense with Robby Anderson and CMC.
Brandon Aiyuk
Aiyuk would be higher if he didn’t play in an unpredictable offense that benefits the run. Aiyuk should be the #1 option at receiver but Deebo Samuel is also very talented at that position and George Kittle is healthy as well. 900-1,100 receiving yards is very doable with 7-9 TD’s, but it’s hard for me to believe he can be a WR1 or WR2 in a stacked and unpredictable offense. Maybe I will be wrong.
20. Kenny Golladay
Golladay is the clear #1 option for Daniel Jones this season and with an improved offense and run game with Saquon Barkley back, Golladay should go off for over 1,200 yards receiving with tons of targets in the Red-Zone this season. I love Golladay’s upside in PPR, but we will see. A solid WR2 or first player off the bench.
Chris Godwin
Godwin is elite but again is in a stacked offense with tons of good receivers and Tight Ends. Goodwin will be hit or miss every week and even though Brady will throw a lot, I stayed away from him in Fantasy Football so hopefully, you didn’t reach for him or teammate Mike Evans who isn’t even in my top 25. That’s how bad I think Evans will be in PPR this year. Godwin will be a bit better, but not by much. Hopefully, you went with teammate Antonio Brown for better value in the later rounds.
22. Odell Beckham Jr.
Talent-wise, Beckham Jr. remains one of the premier Wide Receivers, but as always health is the biggest concern for him. The Browns will be one of the best teams in the NFL this year and Mayfield has a ton of options on offense, but Beckham will be the #1 target in the passing game. This is a very risky player to have on your fantasy team, but Beckham also has a ton of upside and could become a WR1.
23. Chase Claypool
Claypool is the #1 option for the Steelers this season (sorry JuJu) and will rack up over 900 yards and 8+ TD’s. Big Ben is slowing down and may not be great, but he will still happily target Claypool a ton. Tomlin always finds a way to get his guys involved and Claypool is a solid WR2 and an even better #1 option off of the bench.
24. Robby Anderson
Even though Anderson will be the second receiving option for Darnold and the Panthers’ offense, he will still produce over 1,000 receiving yards and most definitely will catch over 7 TD passes from Darnold. Anderson is a great flex option and first receiver off of the bench in PPR leagues.
Antonio Brown
Brown had a big game with a touchdown catch and over 120 yards receiving in the Bucs win over the Cowboys on Thursday night. I would be surprised if Brown is consistent this year, not because he isn’t talented but because of how many other good receivers the Bucs have that Brady will target as well.
