Fantasy Football PPR Rankings Week 10, Running Backs
The most important position in Fantasy Football, who are guys to play this week as games have just started?
Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers, Opponent: Arizona Cardinals
McCaffrey is still finding his stride and he is going up against a formidable defense in the Cardinals. Nonetheless, McCaffrey’s ability to average 12 carries with 6+ receptions per game this season automatically makes him RB1.
Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings, Opponent: Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers are giving up 161.1 rush yards per game this season which ranks last in the NFL by a mile. Expect Cook to have a monster game against them.
Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts, Opponent: Jacksonville Jaguars
Jonathan Taylor has averaged over 100+ yards per game since Week 5 to go along with 5+ receptions per game as well. If McCaffrey were still hurt and Cook wasn’t going up against the worst run defense in the NFL, Taylor would be #1.
Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers, Opponent: Detroit Lions
No Big Ben due to covid means that the Steelers will rely even more on Harris against the Lions who rank 30th in run defense.
Harris is another player that finds his workout split between carries and receptions and he will undoubtedly have a monster game against the Lions.
Austin Ekeler Los Angeles Charters, Opponent: Minnesota Vikings
After a dud of a game for Ekeler, he will look to rebound against the Minnesota Vikings who’s defense ranks 22nd against the run.
Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints, Opponent: Tennessee Titans
The Titans are 7-2, but still have a defense that gives up 365 yards per game, which ranks in the bottom 5 percent of the NFL.
Most of those yards given up come against the pass, and that is why Kamara is even more valuable since half of his workout comes in the passing game. Kamara is a must start RB1.
Cordarrelle Patterson, Atlanta Falcons, Opponent: Dallas Cowboys
Patterson is more of a wide receiver now than a RB so it seems unfair to continue to rank him in this category. Nonetheless, with Calvin Ridley still out, Patterson is going to be the #1 option on offense the whole game.
However, Trevon Diggs could switch over and cover Patterson on the outside if he lines up as a receiver, which inevitably could mean havoc for Patterson owners in fantasy. Patterson will be hit or miss today.
Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers, Opponent: Seattle Seahawks
Jones and the Packers will be playing the Seahawks in the snow and that should mean more rushing yards for Jones. However, A.J. Dillon was more involved in the game plan last week, so maybe Jones is in for another dud of a game if the game plan still lines up on that trajectory.
James Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars, Opponent: Indianapolis Colts
Robinson is back and will be the focal point of the Jaguars’ offense. The Colts are giving up 106 rush yards per game on average, which isn’t the worse, but also far from being the best. Robinson should have a solid day.
Ezekiel Elliot, Dallas Cowboys, Opponent: Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons defense is ranked 26th in rush yards per game giving up 123.1 yards on average. Elliot is poised for a huge day.
Darell Henderson Jr., Los Angeles Rams, Opponent: San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers rank 27th in rush yards per game (131.1) given up so Henderson should be a bigger part of the game plan this week, especially with Robert Woods being out all season.
D’Andre Swift, Detroit Lions, Opponent: Pittsburgh Steelers
Swift would be ranked higher if he wasn’t playing the Steelers. Swift is still the #1 option on the Lions so expect a ton of rushing attempts, even if he isn’t effective. He will probably need a Touchdown to salvage his fantasy day against the 5th ranked defense in the NFL.
Leonard Fournette, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Opponent: Washington Football Team
Fournette is always a threat to get your fantasy team a touchdown or two every week just because the Buccaneers are ranked 3rd in offense this season. Start him with confidence.
D’Ernest Johnson, Cleveland Browns, Opponent: New England Patriots
Chubb was coming off of a 30 point fantasy performance and intended to try and replicate that kind of performance against the Patriots.
Instead, he tested positive for COVID and is ineligible to play today. D’Ernest Johnson put up 146 rush yards and a touchdown with 5.7 yards per carry in his lone start of the season against the Broncos, who have a really good defense.
Will he replicate those numbers against the Patriots? Probably not, but he is a solid start since he will get 70+ percent of the backfield snaps for the Browns who rely on their rushing game.
Michael Carter, New York Jets, Opponent: Buffalo Bills
The Bills have a great defense (ranked 1st obviously), but Michael Carter always gets 4+ receptions making him a threat to put up 15 fantasy points even without a formidable backfield showing every single week.
Antonio Gibson, Washington Football Team, Opponent: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers give up only 78 rush yards per game which is 1st in the NFL. However, Gibson can also line up at Wide Receiver and the Buccaneers rank close to last in passing defense, making Gibson a hit or miss player this weekend.
Damian Harris, New England Patriots, Opponent: Cleveland Browns
The Browns have a top 3 rush defense, but Harris is the focal point of the Pats offense. I would sit him personally, but he could end up having a decent day.
Elijah Mitchell, San Francisco 49ers, Opponent: Los Angeles Rams
Mitchell will have a bounceback game against the Rams who are giving up 100 rush yards per game. Mitchell will most definitely eclipse the 100 yard rushing mark Monday night. Start him in flex or at RB2.
Javonte Williams, Denver Broncos, Opponent: Philadelphia Eagles
Williams’ strength of schedule the rest of the way is fairly easy and he is starting to heat up averaging over 80 rush yards per week over the past 3 weeks. He also could pull in some receptions from the passing game, making him a solid start against the Eagles this weekend.
James Conner, Arizona Cardinals, Opponent: Carolina Panthers
Coming off of a 3 touchdown performance, Conner is the only backfield option again this weekend against the Panthers. I do not think that he will replicate that kind of performance since the 49ers rank close to last in run defense and the Panthers rank closer to 1st, but he will get the running snaps and some receptions making him a big boom/bust play this weekend.
Zack Moss, Buffalo Bills, Opponent: New York Jets
Moss owns most of the Red-Zone running snaps which is why he is ranked slightly higher than Singletary. He is a touchdown-dependent RB who could be a reliable flex play this weekend against the Jets, who rank 24th in run defense.
Devin Singletary, Buffalo Bills, Opponent: New York Jets
Both Zack Moss and Devin Singletary should have solid performances against the Jets, however both of them are dependent on pulling in receptions and garnering touchdowns. Singletary is RB2 behind Moss this week, just barely though.
Darrell Williams, Kansas City Chiefs, Opponent: Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders give up 133 rushing yards per game, which ranks close to 30th, but the Chiefs change their offense every single week. Williams could be cut out of the game plan early if Mahomes is passing very well. Williams's numbers are too inconsistent to start.
Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders, Opponent: Kansas City Chiefs
Jacobs is the Raiders’ #1 RB, but he still hasn’t been a consistent force in the offense. Unless he runs for a touchdown, he won’t get you fantasy points. I would sit him.
Mike Davis, Atlanta Falcons, Opponent: Dallas Cowboys
Cordarrelle Patterson is RB1 for the Falcons, but Davis has gotten increased Running Back snaps in the past 2 weekends, meaning if he garners a touchdown he could be valuable. I would still sit him though.
Melvin Gordon II, Denver Broncos, Opponent: Philadelphia Eagles
With Javonte Williams being the #1 running option for the Broncos, Gordon II gets his fantasy production from touchdowns as he owns most of the Red-Zone running snaps this season, in fact, 70 percent of them. Gordon is a big boom/bust player this weekend against the Eagles. I would sit him.
Alex Collins, Seattle Seahawks, Opponent: Green Bay Packers
Collins could have a good day since Chris Carson is out, but Russell Wilson is back so his production should be limited. Sit him with confidence.
